Willows range of soy candles & soy melts are hand poured from natural soy wax & pure beeswax using quality fragrance oils, & lead free wicks.
Candles add soft ambience. Their warm glow and sweet scent make a home cozy and the occasion special.
Soy Wax burns 50% longer than candles made of petroleum-based paraffin, the ingredient found in most candles. They also burn slower and cooler (helping to better distribute fragrance), are non-toxic, less likely to trigger allergies, clean up with hot soapy water, and produce very little soot.
These factors tend to make Soy candles more animal and child-friendly than traditional candles.
Soy Wax is a favourite of environmentally conscious people because it is not made from petroleum which is an ingredient in paraffin candles.
Paraffin is the predominant wax used in the candle industry. Paraffin is basically the "bottom of the barrel" even after asphalt is extracted. Paraffin is the final byproduct in the petroleum refining chain.
Soy candles have a better scent throw than standard fragranced candles and the fragrance will last until the candle runs out.
The incorporation of Soy bean oil lowers the melting point of the candle, which translates into cooler burning, and faster scent disperation.
No carbon build up or fumes floating in the air, coating walls and lungs like Paraffin candles.
Soy candles contain NO pesticides or herbicides.
Soy wax is a vegetable wax made from the oil of soybeans. After harvesting, the beans are cleaned, cracked, de-hulled, and rolled into flakes. The oil is then extracted from the flakes and hydrogenated. The hydrogenation process converts some of the fatty acids in the oil from unsaturated to saturated. This process dramatically alters the melting point of the oil, making it a solid at room temperature. The leftover bean husks are commonly used as animal feed.
Soy wax is also extremely easy to clean up in case of a spill - simply use warm soapy water.
